How To Treat Persistent Pain On Shin And Calf Muscles Caused After Injury?
Lower leg (shin and calf) painful after foot went through broken metal drain cover a couple of hours ago - had to twist and wrench leg and foot out with help. Can walk OK with minor discomfort, but leg is painful at rest and to touch. Some bruising and scrapes (tetanus up-to-date) but pain feels muscular or bone rather than surface pain. See GP tomorrow or leave for a couple of days? Need to drive nearly 2 hours to work.

Your symptoms seem to be related to the injury. I suggest using anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day. I also suggest using magnesium supplement for muscle relaxation. Cold compresses can also be helpful in pain relieve.
