Hello,
Welcome to HCM,

Rabies is a 100% fatal disease which is transmitted by dog bite but it is 100% preventable by proper and adequate treatment.

As you have a doubt that your unvaccinated puppy has licked your wound, for which your doctor has advised proper treatment by suggesting you to take 5 shots of anti rabies vaccine.

We don't want to take any risk with disease like rabies, over treatment is not at all a problem but under treatment is fatal. What ever the treatment you have received is proper and adequate. I would suggest you to give anti rabies vaccine to your pet too.
Thank you.
