Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having a sore throat for a couple of days and then currently went away. I have been out in the cold for an extended amount of time and been coughing up mucus with sometimes a blood trace but has stopped. Along with that I have also experienced a slight cough. I was wondering a diagnosis I can bring to my doctor and how to treat it.
Your symptoms suggestive of bronchitis like an infection of the lower respiratory tract. You can evaluate further with CBC and digital chest x-ray for primary work up. If symptoms don't improve than antibiotic course might be prescribed along with a decongestant.
