How To Treat Stomach Pain After Reversal Colectomy Surgery?
I recently had a reversal colrectamy surgery, about three weeks ago and for the last four days have had pain on the side the stoma is on, hurts to even lift the leg on that side. Shouldn't the pain be improving instead of getting worse and what would be causing this>
This is major aurgery and yes you are right, the pain should be getting better. But with rehabilitation and your bowel habits changing since surgery, pain can fluctuate. Although, another factor to consider is blood vessel injury or nerve entrapment. If the pain does not begin to subside in about 7-10 more days, then please report to your operating surgeon.
Best wishes.
