How To Treat Stomach Pain Of A Child?

Sunday night my 6 year old threw up but very little. Monday morning when I went to get him up for school he was crying and running a fever so he stayed home. He slept pretty much all day. He said his back hurt and that he fell out of bed. I gave him ibprofen and kept a cool cloth on his head. His fever would go away and than come back. He stayed home again today, at some points he feels fine. He wont eat anything but popsicles and he seems dehydrated. He is now complaining of stomach pain and he can barely move. So I am wondering if maybe he bruised a rib.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.
There could be several causes for that stomach pain and fever your child is having. When we have a child with stomach pain in our clinic we think of various causes which include urinary tract infection, colitis, etc. There is one danger sign I am worried about in case of your child. Your statement that he can barely move worries me. I suggest you to consult a doctor at the earliest. We will have to rule out conditions like periotonitis etc in such children.
Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
