Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Treat Swelling Of Ankle And Foot Due To Injury?
My husband had a log fall on his leg about a month ago. It was immediately swollen. It moved down to the ankle and foot. The leg is still swelling. Now the area around the actual gash has a hard feeling but there is very soft skin around it. It almost feels like a bubble.
I have studied your case and I think you might be having fracture in foot or leg. So I would recommend you to get x ray of the foot and leg. I would recommend you to get this early as possible. As you said that your uncle foot' is developing blister so it means swelling is developing so it can be dangerous. If x rays shows any fracture then I would recommend you get a plater splint so that swelling will decrease. I would also recommend you to keep his limb elevated over pillow. Make sure that he is continuously moving his toes. If there us increase in swelling or discolouration or blisters increasing then he might need surgical intervention. I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up questions . thanks
