How To Treat The Condition Of Advanced COPD?

my 87 year old mother-in-law has advanced COPD as well as arteries in her legs 80% blocked. The cardiologist said she only has about a year to live. She asked if him if she could go off of some of her medications and he took her off of one of her blood pressure pills and Lipetor. She is still on Plavix. Why doesn't she need the Lipetor?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
After going through the history and looking at the amount of blockage (80%), I would agree with the doctor to remove Lipitor, if he wanted to remove any unimportant medication at this point.
Lipitor is a cholesterol lowering drug which slows down atherosclerosis, which blocks the arteries.
As most blockage has occurred, and a medication needs to be removed, lipitor can be removed.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
