How To Treat The Fever, Cold And Related Phlegm Caused In A Child?

Hi my daughter is 2 she has no spleen and we are usually advised to go to ER if she has a fever over 100. She has had a cold the last few days and is now coughing terribly with a lot of phlegm and is super grumpy her body temp is 95.8 f and she is complaining of lower back pain should I be concerned or wait it out?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

In the absence of spleen, OPSI(overwhelming post spleenectomy syndrome) is very common, hich is associated with fever and Pneumococcal and other capsular bacterial infetion.
In the presence of fever and any respiratory symptoms its always advisable to contact your Pediatrician at earliest.

Take Care

Best Regards
