How To Use Methocarbamol Along With Motrin?

Hi, I m having back pains and my doctor prescribed me Methocarbamol 500. I haven t taken it until tonight because I was worried about the side effects. I ve been taking Motrin 800 during the daytime while I m at work. I m not planning on taking both these drugs at the same time but can I continue to take the Motrin in the daytime and Methocarbamol at night? Thanks, Roy

Hello,

I understand your concern. Methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant that helps ease muscle spasms, which are often the reason for back pain. Since among its side effects is also dizziness, drowsiness and blurred vision, taking it before bedtime is the sensible thing to do. Also you'd be right in taking Motrin at day time instead. Make sure you do not take Motrin for longer than ten days as long term use of non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, such as Motrin is associated to harmful side effects.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
