Huge Lump In Left Breast, Diagnosed As Fibrocystic Breast, Not Seen Now. Lump Appearing In Right Breast. What Could Be This?
I had a huge lump in my left breast for a couple of weeks, I went to the doctor and she had me come in once a weeks for like a month, never did a mammogram, and said I just had fibrocystic breast. And it went away for a while and only showed up before my menstrual cycle. I haven't seen it in my left breast for awhile, but now there it a huge lump in my right breast about the same size as the left one. I would just really love a solid answer, If it helps i'm only 18.
Fro the information you have provided, it is most likely that this will be another fibrocystic mass. This is because when you have one before, the chances of having another one are more likely. Your age also makes this diagnosis more common than breast cancers. However, I will advice that you get this lump evaluated and the potential of a concerning lesion like cancer be excluded and a plan established for you depending on the findings. This could be simply by observing or pursuing some aggressive measures.
I hope this addresses your query fully and helps. if you have follow up questions, please feel free to ask me and I will address the. I wish this turns out harmless lump and also wish you a good health. Dr. Ditah, MD
Sorry to hear about your problem. The condition you are describing is quite common at your age and you should not worry to much about it. The lump which you are appreciating in the breast is due to the cyclical hormonal changes and the lumpiness will disappear in a few weeks. If the lump persists, you can visit a breast surgeon and have him schedule an ultrasound for you.
Hoping for the best. Please feel free to clarify any other query.

Hi, It seems that these lumps might be due to some hormonal changes occuring during period. But to be on safer side get your both breasts examined thoroughly by your Gynaec. If require she will go for Mammography. Ok and take care.
