Hut Shin. Lump Formed. Why Is It Painful?

I hit my shin pretty hard on a peice of steel about 4 weeks ago, and a lump formed aprox. 2 weeks after the injury. Its pretty hard to the touch kinda spongy, about 4 fingers long and 3 wide about half an inch thick. its not really painful unless im on my knees, but gets larger at work and gets smaller at night. I dont bruise easy and the bruise was around for about a week. Any ideas Thanks Lumpy leg

Hi,Wade,
Thanks for query.
It seems that you might developed a hematoma i.e. collection of blood under the skin pf your shin.
Apply cold sponge.
You may require antibiotic medicine to prevent infection and for dissolving the lump.
Ok and bye.
