Hypertensive After Pregnancy, Went Into Renal Failure. Ultrasound Shows Bilateral Small Size Kidneys. Help?
pt is 28yrs old female, hypertensive since last 4 yrs(after her first pregnency),went in renal failure( creatinine was 11mg/dl 0and pulmonary edoema,5 month back, since then she is on dialysis twice a week, her creatinine used to stay at 7mg/dl before dialysis andbetween 3 to 4 mg/dl post dialysis, her utrasuond shows bilateral small sizes kidneys, Rt 7.3 cm and left 7.4cm. plz advice measures to reduce creatinine level
According to her numbers, she is at Stage 4 or 5 renal disease, meaning very advanced; if her creatinine has been elevated like that for years, it is likely that the kidneys will ultimately fail, and given her young age, the 2 options would then be dialysis or kidney transplant, hopefully the latter.
