Hi, i am a diabetic patient since 18 years, now the albumin is present in my urine sample since 1 year, but the blood urea and creatinine is normal and scanning report of kidney also normal, the doctor says here, i am admitted for test for kidney biopsy, please advise me sir.
and also i have no retinopathy and any heart diseases.
Hi Chandru,.....albuminuria is an early sign of kidney disease...now it could be because of diabetes or any other cause also in your case....hence, consult a nephrologist, get quantification of your proteinuria and if necessary get a kidney biopsy done...if it turns out to be diabetic nephropathy then you need rigorous control of your DM and BP and if anything else, then get treated for that disease specifically...bye.
hi my father he was 75 y old he is a diabetic patient since 18 years now the albumin is present +++ in his urune sample since 2 week but blood urea and creatinine is 1.75 urea is normal
hello chandru,
what your urine report is showing is initial signs of diabetic nephropathy.
i would advise you to meet a endocrinologist and get your diabetes checked.
i would advise you to get a hbc1c levels done.
also get your FBS and your PPBS levels done.
you need to consult a physician who will put you on some renal protective medicines.
i hope i have answered your query.
take care
Hello.Welcome.Presence of protein in urine means poorly controlled diabetes.Get 24 hrs protein in urine done.Diabetic Nephropathy is preceded by microalbuminaria (30-300mg albumin/24 hrs),a potentially reversible disease.Overt proteinuria is more than 300 mg albumin/24 hrs and time taken from ocurrence of proteinuria to end stage renal failure averages 5 years.management of D.Nephropathy is meticulous control of sugar and hypertension, control of UTI,avoiding kidney toxic drugs and pain killers, giving ace inhibitors or ARBs even if normotensive and if Nephropathy has developed then low protein and potassium diet.Good luck.get your kidney biopsy done and always abide your doctors instuctions.
