I Am Diabetic. Prescribed Akurit-4 For TB. What Is The Dosage For Akurit-4?

i hv bn prescribed tab AKuriT-4 , for the TB detected today only, my doctor , I remember told me to take 6 tabs before break fast , but I doubt that I didnt hear properly or I may be wrong , kindly advs what is the exact dosage for the Tab AKuriT-4, I am 48 yrs old , with good 98 kgs weight and 6 ft height , also a recent diabetic , pls advs regards

Hi,
Thanks for using the HCM. I am happy to address your questions, Akurit 4 contains rifampicin 150 mg, isoniazid 75 mg, ethambutol 275 mg, pyrazinamide 400 mg. Adult (ave of 50 kg body wt) 3 tab/day. Patients weighing >70 kg 5 tab, 55-70 kg 4 tab, 38-54 kg 3 tab, 30-37 kg2 tab, or as advised by your clinician. All doses should be taken once daily for 4 mth. Should be taken on an empty stomach (at least 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals). Used in the treatment of both pulmonary & extrapulmonary TB, in the intensive initial phase of treatment.
