Did they ever diagnose the reason behind your stroke at such an early age? Or was it considered an inherited condition? I found this write-up researching my answer... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6713163.stm But I get the distinct impression that it is havnig CURRENT strokes (in old age) that may cause the increased risk of Alzheimer's. Can the link between the two still exist with 60 years between the events? I think not. I can understand your reason for being wary though. Are you seeing a neurologist regularly? If I was you I would be considering all avenues of prevention now, before you get any older and your brain becomes damaged even more with aging. These all seem to be good articles concerning just this... http://www.alzinfo.org/alzheimers-research-prevention.asp http://alzheimers.about.com/od/alzheimersprevention/Alzheimers_prevention.htm http://www.memory-key.com/Seniors/Alzheimers_Prevention.htm
