I Had One Period 2 Months Ago Is This Normally For It Not To Be Every Month?

my 11 yr old had one period 2 months ago is this normally for it not to be every month?
by the way she can't be pregnant shes only just 11 and it was horrrendous, bad pain and very heavy it hasn't happened again, does this happen it was definately a period, I have endometriosis, the problem is she goes very red and upset and doesn't want to talk about it,I try to be very open, but she says its dirty and she feels horrible, I think to get her to talk to a dr would really upset her

I started my period when I was eleven so that is not uncommon, especially now it seems girls get their periods very early. I am not a doctor so I cannot diagnose, but personally I would not get too worried yet. Of course the best thing to do is take her to a doctor but maybe since she just started her period and it was so heavy she stressed herself out and it is delaying her second one.
Also, is it like her to not want to discuss things with you? It may be bothering her a lot more than she lets on. I think its best to get her examined, that way you can rest your mind and hers as well.

She is younger than average, but it is in fact very common to have an odd period and then a gap. It could take more than a year to establish regular monthly periods. I am a bit worried that she had such a bad time at such a young age and it might be a good idea to take her to the GP to discuss some potential strategies to help with her next period when it does come.
