I Have A Sharp, Shooting Pain Down My Inside Left

I have a sharp, shooting pain down my inside left thigh to my big toe. It is sporadic but when it occurs it feels like someone is stabbing my leg. I had this when I was 16 years old, often and on for the next 30 years...then it went away. I was told it was hormonal surges. I'm now 60 and started getting this pain again, every day, several times a day. I'm 5'9" and weight 155 pounds.
