I Have Had Some Pretty Sever Pain Consistently For About

I have had some pretty sever pain consistently for about 3 years in my left side/back around the lower part of my rib cage I have recently began to feel very nauseated have been nauseated for about 3 weaks now. Went to the er for these problems and they did a ct scan and a urinalisis and nothing showed up for any problems with the kidneys. They prescribed me steroids and muscle relaxers because they diagnosed it as muscle spasms. Needless to say the steroids and muscle relaxers did nothing for my symptoms. Was wondering what else could be causing so much pain and nausea every day all the time.
