Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

Some people naturally have low pulse rate while athletes develop low pulse rate by their vigorous exercise.

Anxiety is known to increase the heart rate as well shoot up the blood pressure.

You should not get the blood pressure (BP) checked immediately after reaching the clinic or hospital but should relax for at least 30 minutes before your BP is measured and that too not soon after heavy meals. BP should be recorded both in lying down position as well as standing position and this has to be done on three different occasions and if all the readings indicate high BP, then you need to start medication.

You have not mentioned your age. If you are less than 45 years old, you need to get your renal function tests to be done to exclude kidney problem, which may also give rise to high BP.

Wish you all the best.
