I Recognize As Croup ,and Really Need Your Suggestion
Hello ,Ive got a 2 yr old.that was prem born and oxygen dependent for the 1st 6 months of life,he also has chronic lung disease through prematurity.he seems to have what i recognize as croup ,and really need to know if i should be taking him straight to the hospital or if he will be safe until i can get him to my G.P 1st thing in the morning,as i have no means of transport and also have 2 other small children as well,.thanks
Hi Ms.Poulton, its unfortunate your query remains unanswered for so long. I hope you got your child checked and sorted out. As you said GP ,I believe you live in the UK. Given your little boy's history of being prem with CLD, you should have a low threshold to take him into your GP's or into the A&E particularly for any breathing type problems including croup. I will be happy to take any further queries in relation to your child. Take Care.
