I Think My Heart Has An Irregular Beat, How Do I Know ?

I think my heart has an irregular beat, how do I know ? I was lying in bed and then I suddenly became short of breath , and light headed. I also got a sudden burst of heat in my body. This happened a couple times within a 10 minute 10 period. After these episodes I felt a big beat near my chest . Are these signs of an irregular heart beat? What should I do about it?

Nothing significant, avoid stimulants and stress; and junk food, if it still does not work out check with your doctor, OK.
