If Having A Chip Fracture Of The Middle 5th Digit, Is It Splinted In A Bent Position Or A Straight Position?

Hi I went to an orthopedic md as I have a chip fracture of the middle 5th digit. He splinted it in a bent position. I ran into a hand therapist who stated that is rarely done as this injury is usually splinted straight. Should I go to a hand specialist for a second opinion? I am confused. Thank you.

i think it is better to splint in bend position because this helps in keeping movement intact . So continue that bending position for 2 weeks and you will be fine. Problem with bent position is that it is not easy to maintain and you may need repeated bandaging.
