My grandmother is 104 years old, has arthritis very bad and not very mobile. She does live on her own however. She has started leaking clear fluid from her legs. She doesnt want to go to the doctor, says she is just old and there isn t anything they can do for someone her age. Do you have any idea why her legs might be leaking fluid?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The leaking of fluid from the legs is a worrisome finding. It could be due to a subcutaneous tissue inflammation or infection in the area. Cardiac and renal diseases also need to be ruled out. Please do consult a physician for proper examination.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
