Immovable And Hard Lump On Leg. What Is The Solution?

My 15 year old son has a lump appeared on his leg about 6cm above his ankle - he has gone through a growth period and is 189 cms. It is approximately the size of a golf ball and is hard, it doesnt move feels as if attached to the bone. If you knock it his bottom of his foot hurts. He has advised it has been there for a little while but has grown significantly lately.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, the presentation seems to be in favor of a bone tumor which could be benign or malignant (cancerous). In my opinion, I would advise that you see an orthopedist for proper assessment.
I hope I have answered your query
I wish your son good health
