Inconsistent And Irregular Bowel Movements, Weightgain. History Of Triple Bypass. Any Medication?

I have a problem with my lack of having consistant bowel movements. I sometimes go up to 3 or 4 days without
having a movement. I had a triple bypass in 2003 and quit smoking. my waist size has went from 32 to a 40 which is loose. I have always had a problem. never regular. is there an otc medication for this? I am scheduled to visit
my family doctor next week. what should test should I ask to check on this? is there otc medication for this? is there
possibilities my bowel tract needs cleaning and how?

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
There is regular chronic constipation.
High fiber diet,
Plenty of water,
salad will often soften the stool.
Laxatives are available over the counter , so you can use this.
