Increased Heart Beat While Climbing Stairs. Overweight. Have Panic Disorder, Cholesterol. Normal?
I'm 21 years old. My heart is fine, I've been to 4 cardiologists in the last year. I'm healthy, but i have a horrible panic disorder. I'm overweight, but i eat very healthy and im on cholesterol medicine. (I have 152 cholesterol) When going up the stairs (12 steps) my heart beats like crazy, about 140 bpm, but then slows down after a minute or so. Is this normal???
General & Family Physician, Dr. Lohit K's Response
Hi,
Your heart is working to provide more nutrition to your muscles. The heart beats of 140BPM may be normal or due to any other disease like anemia, anxiety, lung function problem or due to cardiac problem. Since your cardiologists examined and told that your heart is normal, check for your Hb level and also lung function test once to rule out any other cause.
Do every day breathing and out door exercises. This will help you.
regards
