Increasing Power In Eyes. History Of Astigmatism. Reason For Sudden Change In Power?

sir, 6 months back,my left eye had a power of -0.5 while right eye was normal.today i gt an eye checkup done.i was shocked to see that te power of l.eye is nw -1.25 and tat f right eye is -1. i am a medical student and spends a lot f time reading and infront f laptop dng projects etc.... 3 years bak one dr had told tat i hav slight astigmatism[bt i ignored it coz my family dr ruled out astigmatism n told slight astigmatism is normal]... wat might b te reason for the sudden change in power

hello..noboby knows the exact cause and mechanism of whn and how the astigmatism will come at wht age , how much.., but some factors precipitate the increase of eye power / change ..for eg..working for long time on computers, specially with small fonts and bright screen..because the flickering on computers /tv ..strain and non-blinking of eyes causes ..eye muscles to get fatigued and precipitate the change in eye power..
is is advisable that u should wear specs ..constantly..and get yr eyes checked every 3 monthly and get it corrected as soon as possible to avoid strain..
please take break after working on computers , for 20 minutes for 20 sec, frequently blink yr eyes, avoid sitting in front of A/C, use lubricating eye drops frequently, yr posture has to right..as if sitting on table chair and computer should be below the eye level..u may take multivitamins rich in lutein and xeaxanthin and B complex group of medicine..
if you r near 35 yrs of age then get yr IOP checked by doc.and must get fundus examination done..please get cycloplegic refraction to know exact status of yr eye power..
tell me after all these tests
