Indentations On Buttocks Cheek, Discoloration, Painful. What Is The Reason?
Hi, my name is Chen, female, 34 years old. About 5 months ago, I found an indentation in the middle of my left bum cheek. The size of the indentation is about 2cm, almost a triangular shape and has slight discoloration (pale). It's not painful most of the time. Only occasional pain from it going down to the thigh that lasted a few seconds. Please advice. Thank you.
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
I suspect you may have subcutaneous fat atrophy (SFA).
After injury or injection in gluteal region due to less use of muscle at the site of impact due to pain, muscle sometime get atrophied and indentation occurs.
Focal trauma to the area can also result in the same but as I understand you do not recall this happening.
It is nothing to worried about.
Consider gluteal (Buttock exercises ) to build up the muscle in gluteal region and it will goes off overtime. The pain may due to referred pain from the trauma site or injection site. If it fails, Please consider fat grafting in the region of indentation.
Hope this helps. Please reply for further queries. Wishing you good Health.
Regards, Dr.Manjeth kumar.
