Infant. Red Rashes On Face After Starting With Solid Food Of Rice Cerelac, Slightly More Quantity. Reason?
Hello..my baby will be five months in next ten days..his doctor advised to start rice based cerelac once a day..I started with one scoop and since last two days I gave him three scoops..after having it he got red rashes over his face..what could be the reason for that...as he had cerelac easily..!!with one or two scoops of cerelac no such rashes appeared.please clarify.
Normally rice is the first cereal started because of it is not as likely to cause an allergic response compared to the other cereals.
However based on the reaction that you have described, it seems as though your baby had an allergic response to this particular cereal.
You may want to try another brand of rice cereal to see if it agrees with him.It would be best to wait till this particular rash resolves so that you can clearly see if this new brand causes any effect.
If there is also a rash with this other brand then you would have to hold off these cereals and speak to his doctor about an alternative.
