Infant Getting Up Frequently At Night, Rubbing Eyes. Allergy?

My 9 month old wakes up a lot at night because he has to rigorously rub his eyes. He is fine during the day though. He can wake up to 5-10 times at night. Could it be because he is teething? He shows no other sighs of allergy (watery red eyes) even though I started to think he is allergic to something in our bed. thank you. Diana

Hello,
Rubbing of eyes can be seen in teething period. However if the baby develops redness , swelling and/or discharge ,you would definitely need to see your doctor.See if the baby follows toys and people(to judge the visual acuity).if he does ,you need not worry.
Thanks.
