Infant Having Fever, Skin Rashes On Legs And Body. Need To Take To ER?
My 17 month old had a fever 2 days ago. For the past 48 hours, he has hardly slept. Yesterday, he also broke out in a rash , mostly on his legs, feet and torso. He has been fussy and not sleeping for most of the night. At what point do I decide if he should be taken to the ER, urgent care, or do I just schedule an appointment with his Doctor?

Hi,
Your little boy most probably is suffering from Viral Fever with rash.This is not an emergency situation.Child are usually fussy when they have virals.you need to continue with antipyretics whenever he gets fever.See to it that he has good amount of liquids so he doesn't get dehydrated .As for the rash if its itchy then calamine lotion could be applied .Do meet up your pediatrician for confirming the diagnosis.
