Infant Having Fever With Red Fiber Like String In Stool. Is It A Parasite?

5 month old son has a 101 temp and what appear to be many small/short, red, fiber-like strings in his stool. they are maybe 1 or 2 cm long at most, very thin, bright red, and semi-abundant in his stool. the stool looks normal though and he is teething. is this a parasite of some sort?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks and welcome to HCM .
Your history is suggestive of thread worm infection .
But it is not very common at that age.
Better consult a pediatrician and get it confirmed before using any worm medication .
Hope this reply is OK for you.
