Infant Moving Her Fingers And Toes In Sleep. Is This Normal?

Hi, while sleeping, my 21 months old daughter moves her fingers of hands slightly and also intermittently her toes. Also inbetween sometimes she moves her arm. These are generally soft movements, occasionally leading to slight break in her sleep.

We are worried if this is something serious that we should be getting some immediate treatment.

Thanks

Dear user,

These are normal movements and would occur during the Rapid Eye Movement phase of her sleep. Don't worry. There is no after-effect of this on her sleep-wake cycles, behaviour or future development.
