Infant Suffering From Loose Motions And Diaper Rashes. What Medication And Diet Can Be Given?

Hi Dr.samuel,

How are you? I have 21 months boy baby. He is doing loose greasy poop three or four times a day. He got severe diaper rash. Poop looks like mucus in it. I don't know what to do. It would be more helpful, if u suggest me some medicines and food diet.

Hi Dear.
Welcome to the HCM,
Child had developed some GIT infection.

Stool culture and sensitivity and ph of the stool to be done, to know the exact bug.

According to the report of culture and sensitivity child to be given relevant treatment.

Severe diaper rashes indicate that child is also passing acidic stool. This can be treated by applying some cream containing zinc oxide. Lactose free milk to be given for week or two till stomach is ok and rashes disappear.

Child is 21 month old can be supplemented with food articles free of any sort of direct sugar like pulses rice soup etc.
