Infant Suffering From Loose Stools, Fever. Econom, Nutrolin,enuff Prescribed. Need All These Medications?

Hi,
My baby is 8 month old now and from 6th May she is suffering from loose motions. She was having fever as well. Fever is under control now but loose motion is not. I am really worried what can be done. She was admitted in hospital for 2 days but still no progress in her loose moton. Medicine prescribed are: az10 tablet, econorm sachet, enuff, nutrolin syr, calpol syr, zerolac powder, enterogermina, zinconia. These r all medicine given to her for 2 days but I have stopped this medicine since i feel it will be a huge dose for such a small kid.Blood, urine and stool test done, all reports r nrmal. please suggest me what to do. I am really very worried.

Hi there ~

I understand your concern for your 8 month old. I am glad that the fever is under control. One way to deal with loose motions is to use supplemental hydration using oral rehydration solution (ORS) which is available at a very low cost. Make sure you are using hygienic water for the same. I believe that the loose motions will not last for a long time. However you must use these medications as well to get rid of the infection, which probably is viral in nature. I hope this helps.
