Infant With Excessive Vomiting And Diarrhea. What Should Be The Dosage For Metrogyl, Emeset?
Hello, I m from india and have a baby who is 9 months old, starting yesterday morning he vomited rice at night followed by cerelac in the morning but has only breast milk , starting this morning he eats then diaorreah right away. He was given mebex last night followed by emeset this morning with metrogyl so now diaorreah and vomit stopped but how about dosage?
majority of cases of gastroenteritis are viral origin and no antibiotics are required................antibiotics are required only if there is dysentry...............suggested by blood or mucus in stool and its assosiation with fever and pain while passing stool....tenismus................
only ORS and antiemitics are required in this condition
self medication and starting drugs without knowing the dosage would be very dangerous in children
metrogyl is prescribed in case of amoebiasis
if its a case of dysentry then we prescribe antibiotics
