Infant With Foul Smelling Watery Stool. Need To Get Checked?

My 20 month old daughter has had a very liquid stool for a few days now. It is fishy smelling and sometimes smells a bit like burnt hair. It is the consistancy and coloring of ranch dressing (sorry for the visual) She is not eating as well as usual but is drinking fin. No fever but is sleeping a lot. Still in good spirits. Should I take her to the DR? is it an infection or will it pass on its own? Should I keep her away from other kids? Thank you!

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Such a presentation could be because of various causes. Monitor her for signs of dehydration.
A stool examination may help in arriving at a diagnosis. Get a pediatric consultation for examination and further investigations.

Continue to ask further queries.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
