Infant With Loss Of Appetite, Wretches During Meal, Abd Pain, No Fever. What Could Be The Reason?

My daughtet is 2 year old and 11kg weight. For last 10 days she had loss of appetite and wretches during meal. Also complain of occasional abd pain. She had two episodes of loose stool that subsided spontaneously. No fever. Ambient temperature around 40. For last two days started going to school. Otherwise playful. Please reply.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Loss of appetite and retching may suggest an upper GI problem. Kindly get the following investigations:
1. Urine for bile salts and pigments.
2. Stool routine examination.
3. Liver function test, if required.
We also need to exclude a hepatic cause for these symptoms.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Regards,
