Infant With Watery Stools. Need To Get Checked?

mu baby will be completing 4 months tomorrow, and her weight is almost 6.2 Kgs. She is getting watery loose motion since morning. She passes her stool every morning that is her routine, after passing morning stool, she then is passing watery motion. please guide whether should I wait to be naturally alright or consult a doctor.

hi ! you should wait for it to self correct before visiting a doctor. you should give her ors after every loose stool so that dehydration doesn't set in. you should also be aware of 3 danger signs i.e. lethargy, persistent vomiting & not passing urine for more than 6 hours in which case a visit to a paediatrician is warranted. also if stools are associated with blood or mucus then also antibiotics are needed. for the time being ors as well as prebiotics are good enough. take care.
