Injured Ankle, Have 2&3 Grade Tare Of Ligaments. Pains When Walking. Suggested Surgery. Recommendations?
Hi I am Jeanne Quesnelle I was wondering if I should get a second opinion on my ankle? I have a grade 2 and a grade 3 tare of the ligaments of my left ankle. I injured it October 12th and I am still having a lot of pain and troubles walking on it. The Dr. that seen me 3 times mentioned that I might have to go for surgery, but it is up to me.. he also said to try more physiotherapy. I was wondering if I could see another specialist on this matter before I make my mine up on going for surgery.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The second and third degree ligament tears are best if treated surgically. These are less likely to heal on conservative treatment and may cause significant disability if left untreated. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
