Intense Pain, Difficulty In Lifting The Hand Post Breaking The Wrist, Have A Cast That Has Loosened. Should I Go In For A New One?

Hi, I broke my left hand/ wrist last sunday and have had it in a cast since last tuesday...the pain has still not eased and i am unable to use my left hand still, however it is the pain that is most severe. Do i need to go back to the hospital? Also the cast is getting a little bit loose so is this normal or do i need a new one putting on? Could this also be the reason i am still in a lot of pain? thanks.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Loosening of cast happens once the swelling subsides. The pain is likely to be due to displacement of the fractured fragments. You need to have an X-ray and examination to know the exact cause. Please do consult your doctor.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
