Irregular Periods. Pregnancy Test Negative. Advise?

I have the coil, and it has been in place for a few years. Due out next year. The last couple of months I have had irregular periods, spotting, etc. I have done pregnancy test and it comes up negative. Through the majority of the years my periods have been regular. But since june, they are irregular, and I experience lighter or heavier then normal, or spotting aswell

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since you mentioned that coil is inserted from last many years and still there , so no chance of any pregnancy.
Since from June you are having dysfunctional uterine bleeding , irregular bleeding, scanty menses.
As all these symptoms may be due to ,
1 Ovarian cyst , we call as Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease ( PCOD).
Can be confirmed by an ultrasound of lower abdomen with ovaries ( emphasis).
2 Uterus disease , can be confirmed by ultrasound of uterus so consult a doctor and get it be examined.
3 Hormonal imbalance so get in blood for estrogen , androgen as well ratio LH/FSH ( if alteration then cause of concern).
So deal according to above mentioned reports.
