Irregular Periods, Spotting. Tubal Clamps Done In The Past. Need To Normalize Periods

I had a tubal (clamps only) almost 7to yrs sgo. The past 3 yrs my periods have been irregular, sometimes skipping a month or 2. Now, it's been almost 3 mths since I've had one....the past 3 says I've been having dark brown discharge ....looks like old blood or when you come off your period. I've never had the regular flow since beginning of March...what's going on?

Hello and welcome to HCM,

The menstrual irregularity that you are having can occur due to a number of causes.
Most commonly these abnormalities occur due to hormonal imbalance.
You need to consult your gynecologist for clinical examination and relevant investigations.
A trial of progesterone usually regularizes the cycles in majority of case.
If the cycles still remain irregular, a hormonal profile, ultrasound abdomen and an endometrial curettings/ biopsy may be needed.

When a specific cause is determined, further treatment can be given for the menstrual irregularities.

Thanks and take care
