I was scratched by a dog.. I think the nurse gave me 1ml instead of 0.1 ml Anti Rabies Injection.. Are there any side effects of this overdose? I am quoting 1 ml because when she gave me first time injection was full and she have half on one side and another half on other side next time it was a lot less.. I am really worried
Hi Rabies vaccines are of two types. First is Rabies vaccine which is 1ml given over right deltoid muscle intramuscularly. Second is Rabies Immunoglobulins which are given as 20 IU/kg body weight (infiltrated around the sound & rest is given intramuscularly). So you do not need to worry about the dosage of vaccine as probably these both would have been given to you. Thanks
