i am an 83 yo male. i take 5 mg amlodipine and 6.25 mg of carvediloil (2Tab) daily for hbp.also take 2.5 mg of jantoven (6days) and 5 mg (1day) as well as .250mcg digoxin for irregular heartbeat. Dr. wants to put me on albuteral because of wheezing associated with a cold. also take 2 mg prednisone daily and weekly dose of 50 mg/ml embrel and 50k vitamin d for RA. I remember reading that albuteral should not be taken by pts with arrythmia ot taking a steroid.
Albuterol is a safe drug and can be used in cardiac patients.
However it may cause elevated heart rate in some patients. You can consult with your cardiologist before starting Albuterol.
