Is Ambroxol Hydrochloride Safe To Use For 2 Months Old?

Hello,my son is 2 months old and he is coughing (a dry one) and we went to see a gp,and found out that,my son has a congestion of mucus in his chest.Is Ambroxyl Hydrochloride safe to use? He has also been using,Asthalin inhaler and Saline nasal spray.

Hi...Ambroxol is not licensed and approved to be used in this age group. This is because the safety and efficacy has not be established with this drug in this age group. I suggest you stop - or do not start Ambroxol as the kid is only 2 months old.
