Is BCG Vaccination Necessary Before Leaving To Abu Dhabi?

We are moving to Abu Dhabi with our 3 young children (5,3,2) and have been advised to get them vaccinated with the BCG jab. When I phoned to arrange this they said it wasn't an 'at risk' area and that they didn't need it. I am confused as i am hearing two different things so please could you clarify and give me advise on how to get it booked if i need to without being dismissed. I am in the UK now but move in Sept. Well come to HCM
Certain norms are there and this need to followed while you migrate from one geographical region to another, as long as the vaccination program is concern, it would be mandatory to have vaccine of BCG or what ever suggested, hope this information, have a nice day (If you are already vaccinated then no need to get it again )

Welcome to healthcaremagic,
BCG vaccine is given to prevent tuberculosis disease. The scar on upper left arm of most people is caused due to BCG vaccination. The vaccine is given to children soon after birth. The vaccine is usually recommended for children under 1 year of age. As you are visiting Abu Dhabi where Tuberculosis cases are less it is not necessary for you to get them BCG at this stage.
