Is Budecort A Steroid And What Are Its Side Effects (if Any)?

Hi
My 15 month boy is suffering from high fever usually 102/103 for 6 days and severe cold and wheezing, so paed suggested Augmentine twice daily alongwith Asthalin , Duolin and Budecort nebulisation, Asthalin, 4 times a day for 7 days, Duolin ,3 times a day for 3 days and Budecort 2 times a day for 30 days.I want to know whether Budecort is a steroid and if it is what is its side effects and prolonged use of such a thing would be ok or not?

Hello.The drug that you refer is Budesonide, a corticosteroid, however you should not worry because the drug inhaled does not have the side effects of corticosteroids taked by mouth.The drug can be used safely during the days that the doctor deems appropriate.I wish you good health.
