Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Apart from fever, what are her symptoms- like cough, throat pain, loos stools, vomiting? Whether clarithromycin will be effective or not, will depend on the cause of fever. If it is respiratory infection (will be having cough, cold or throat pain), clarithromycin is a good choice. But we have to wait 48-72 hours to get any relief. If it is just a fever only, with otherwise normal examination, I will take this as viral fever and give paracetamol for 3 days and review.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
