Hi,
Clofert contains
clomiphene citrate which is
selective estrogen receptor modulator. It has both estrogenic and antiestrogenic action. It helps to stimulate ovulation in women who are suffering ovulation defect. Other causes for
infertility should be treated before taking Clomiphene citrate. It has its action over estrogen receptor present in
hypothalamus, pituitary, ovary, endometrium, cervix and vagina.
Side effects of the drug are nausea, vomiting, gastric discomfort, breast tenderness, abnormal
uterine bleeding, flushing, headache, dizziness, etc. All these side effects are recovered after stopping the medicine. It should not be taken over six continuous menstrual cycles without proper advice. Visit the obstetrician for further details.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
